OLFA CTN-1 model 9980 box cutter is a premium carton cutter with a segmented blade to save time and money. It is important to note that when the blade is dull, break off the segment and keep cutting! As you can imagine, cutting with a sharp edge is much safer than cutting with a dull razor blade. Furthermore, with 6 sharp edges per blade, keep cutting longer before a new blade is needed.

The CTN-1 Carton Cutter is similar in shape to a traditional razor blade carton cutter. However, Olfa's CTN-1 carton cutter is made in Japan and not China. So, its body is made of premium material with a design to prevent the blade from sliding out. Face it - we've all seen it happen with the cheap razor blade carton cutters. As you know, it is a serious safety issue for standard carton cutters with razor blades. Lastly, the CTN-1 has the added feature of a six-segment snap-off blade.
