This clear hanging tag protector is manufactured from durable 8-gauge (8-mil) polished clear vinyl, with a reinforced hang hole and 2-layer reinforced header. It is designed to protect and display 3 x 5" tags, cards, and documents in industrial, commercial, and retail applications.
Common uses include work orders, job tickets, Kanban tags, maintenance logs, instruction manuals, warranty cards, and WIP move tickets. Because both the front and back are made from durable 8-gauge clear vinyl, the information inside is protected while remaining visible and easy to read.

3 x 5" Tag Fit
Yes. The 180-1696 is designed to fully protect a standard 3 x 5" tag. The pocket height is 5 1/4", providing enough depth to keep the tag inside the envelope rather than extending above the opening.
Do I Need a Metal Eyelet?
A 2-layer reinforced hang hole is strong enough for many typical applications, including the repeated insertion and removal of tags and documents these holders are designed for. Adding a metal eyelet is not necessary for normal use, and it adds cost.
For more demanding applications involving unusually high stress or rough handling, a 1/4" ID brass eyelet can be added to further reinforce the hang hole. Metal eyelets are sometimes referred to as grommets, but the hardware used for this application is an eyelet.
ULINE S-6015 Comparison
The 180-1696 clear hanging tag holder is similar to, but not exactly the same as, ULINE Vinyl Envelopes - 3 x 5", Model S-6015. ULINE markets the S-6015 as a 3 x 5" vinyl envelope, but its own Additional Info lists the actual usable dimensions as 3 3/8 x 4 11/16". As a result, a standard 3 x 5" tag can extend above the opening.
Our 5 1/4" pocket height is designed to completely protect a 3 x 5" tag, making the 180-1696 a practical alternative when full tag coverage is important.
